Mr. Bauer
About
Lee Bauer (he/him/his) joined Hubbard beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. As part of the English department, Mr. Bauer currently works with sophomores and freshman, teaching Honors Seminar 2 (on schedules as Honors Creative Writing), Regular Seminar 2, and Transitional English 1 for ESL.
Mr. Bauer received his Bachelor's from Kenyon College in 2016, majoring in English and minoring in History, and his Master of Education from Loyola University Chicago in 2020. Over the years his scholarship has focused on Medieval English Literature and the the place of medieval religious women in society, with additional interests in the postcolonial literature of South Asia.
Mr. Bauer is an avid knitter and lover of sports, and he spends his free time watching tennis, biathlon, and road cycling while knitting his latest cardigan. As a transgender and queer man, Mr. Bauer is passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ students and rights.
